个人简介
Linda Oostendorp received her Master’s degree in Biomedical Health Sciences from the Radboudumc, the Netherlands, in 2004. Between 2004 and 2007, Linda worked as a junior researcher at a Dutch rehabilitation centre. In 2007 she returned to Radboudumc to start her PhD project at the Departments for Health Evidence and Medical Oncology.
Her PhD focused on shared decision-making in the field of advanced cancer, focusing on the treatment decision whether or not to add second-line palliative chemotherapy to best supportive care alone, for patients with advanced breast or colorectal cancer. This study included systematic reviews, a randomised controlled trial and an interview study with professionals. As part of her PhD training, Linda obtained a Master’s degree in Epidemiology in 2011.
In March 2013, she moved to the UK and started working as a Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire where she was involved in a mixed methods Delphi study to develop a tool for patient engagement.
In June 2014, Linda took up the position of Research Associate at the Louis Dundas Centre for Children’s Palliative Care at UCL. As part of this role, Linda was involved with a qualitative study on advance care planning, a retrospective review of breakthrough pain in children with life-limiting conditions, and a mixed methods study aiming to stimulate research by improving recruitment among children with life-limiting conditions and their families, including a systematic review and a survey.
In June 2017, Linda took up her current position as Senior Research Associate at the UCL Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department, continuing her research in the field of palliative care. She is currently working on several projects about prognostication.
