Design Studies on 0.3- THz, 0.5-MW Conventional Cavity Gyrotron for Plasma Heating

摘要
The design aspects of the conventional interaction cavity and RF behavior studies of a 0.3- THz, 0.5-MW, TE41,12 mode gyrotron are presented. The study includes the mode selection, cold cavity calculation and single-mode calculations which are carried out using our in-house computer code package Gyrotron Design Suite (GDS-2018). Further, time-dependent multi-mode calculations (SELFT) are performed using the KIT SELFT code to verify power growth in the desired mode over the other competing modes.
