湖南外国语职业学院是2006年2月，经湖南省人民政府批准，正式成为高等职业院校 。学院前身为始建于1993年的浏阳外国语进修学院，2002 年由湖南浏阳河职业教育集团全资收购后，于2006年4月经湖南省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案，升格为全日制普通高等职业学院，并更名为湖南外国语职业学院。2006年4月与湖南税务高等专科学校签订合作办学协议，学院主体部分搬迁至长沙市雨花区中意路324号-长沙税务干部学院暨湖南税务高等专科学校院内。 湖南税务高等专科学校占地面积375亩，湖南税务高等专科学校2019年7月31日起与湖南外国语职业学院终止联合办学。 2006~2019年长沙校区租借在湖南税务高等专科学校（长沙税务干部学院）校内办学，2019年10月长沙校区搬迁至望城区新校区，新校区占地870亩。 学校分长沙、浏阳两地办学。总占地面积870亩，学校主校区位于长沙市望城区，设有7个系部、31个专业，有专任教师350多名，有在校学生12000余人。 其中浏阳校区占地面积185亩，建筑面积近8万平方米，教学、实训、生活、服务、文体等设施一应俱全，能容纳在校学生5000人。长沙校区位于湖南省长沙市望城区丁字湾街道京阳大道，占地面积870亩，建筑面积近60万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值6000多万元，纸质图书92万册。新校区全部建成后，将成为一座生态型、园林式、数字化校园 。学校坚持“专家治校，名师治学”办学理念，学校汇聚中西方文化特色的高水平多科性应用型国际化大学 。
The higher vocational colleges are the national important talent training base, which continuously delivers the high-quality talents to the society. This paper briefly introduces the importance of scientific research and education, and from this point of view, analyzes the shortcomings in the work of personnel training in higher vocational colleges, then, the paper discusses the ways and methods of improving the quality of talents cultivation in higher vocational colleges from the perspective of scientific research and education. Hope to provide reference and help for the related personnel engaged in education, and promote the quality and progress of personnel training in higher vocational colleges.
