Objective To compare the correlation between choroidal vascular parameters and retinal nerve fiber lay-er(RNFL)thickness in ocular hypertension(OHT)and primary open-angle glaucoma(POAG)using wide-field op-tical coherence tomography angiography(WF-OCTA).Methods This single-center,retrospective cross-sectional study included 30 patients who underwent WF-OCTA examination at Beijing Friendship Hospital from January to December 2025.Participants were divided into normal control,OHT and POAG groups with 10 in each.WF-OCTA was used to measure choroidal vascular volume(CVV),choroidal vascular index(CVI)and RNFL thickness in concentric annular regions centered on the fovea(1-6 mm,6-12 mm,12-15 mm,15-18 mm,18-21 mm).The Kruskal-Wallis test compared group differences.Multiple linear regression analyzed associations between group CVV,CVI,and RNFL thickness, adjusting for age, gender, axial length(AL)and intraocular pressure(IOP)before and after treatment.Interaction effects were tested. Results Significant differences were observed among groups in age, disease duration, number of medications, central corneal thickness and IOP before and after treatment(P<0.05).Compared with controls, the POAG group showed significantly thinner RNFL thickness and lower CVV in multiple peripheral regions, with higher CVI in some areas(P=0.045).Compared with controls, the OHT group showed no significant RNFL difference but had lower CVV and higher CVI in some regions. After adjustment,post-treatment IOP and axial length were independently negatively correlated with RNFL thickness in multiple regions(P<0.05).In the central 1-6 mm region,CVI was positively correlated with RNFL thickness(β=448.79,P=0.011),with a significant group-CVI interaction(P<0.05),indicating attenuated CVI influence on RNFL in OHT and POAG groups. Conclusions WF-OCTA demonstrates that the CVI(particularly in the central 1-6 mm region)is more significant than the CVV,showing a positive correlation with RNFL thickness, which is modulated by disease sta-tus.Post-treatment intraocular pressure and axial length are the core factors affecting RNFL thickness.
This study proposes the design of a multimodal traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)diagnostic system specifically for atro-phic gastritis(AG).The proposed system integrates digital modules for the four TCM diagnostic methods:inspection(including tongue and facial diagnosis),auscultation and olfaction(covering voice and smell diagnosis),inquiry, and palpation(primarily pulse diagno-sis).To optimize feature extraction in visual inspection,a multi-color space fusion technique is employed.Furthermore, the system combines deep learning with a TCM knowledge graph to achieve comprehensive fusion of information from the four diagnostic methods. This integrated approach facilitates the construction of a TCM syndrome differentiation model and a corresponding therapeutic efficacy evaluation system for AG.This design aims to provide a technical framework for achieving more objective diagnosis, standardized syn-drome differentiation, and precise treatment of AG within the TCM paradigm, thereby contributing to the modernization of TCM diagnos-tics.
Background Hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia(abbreviated as"Three High")frequently coexist with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease(FLD).These diseases interact synergistically, significantly elevating the risk of adverse cardiovascular and hepatic outcomes. The standardized diagnosis and treatment pathway for these patients by general practitioners in primary care is still being explored. Objective Through a typical case report, this paper intends to explore the general practice thinking and practice process of general practitioners in the general practice of patients with"Three High"and FLD.Methods Reporting the general practice process of screening, identification, risk assessment,two-way referral and comprehensive management of a patient with"Three High"and FLD,this article showed the individualized comprehensive management plan and general practice diagnosis and treatment pathway. Results After 8 months of full-course and comprehensive management by general practitioners, the patient's blood pressure and blood glucose reached the target,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol was reduced, the weight loss, waist circumference was reduced, the degree of liver steatosis and fibrosis was significantly improved, and the medication compliance and self-management ability were significantly improved. Conclusion The general practitioner-based comprehensive management of patients with"Three High"and FLD can significantly improve the metabolic indicators and liver status of patients, reflecting the central role of general practice in the management of multiple chronic diseases, and providing practical reference for optimizing the standardized management path of such patients at primary level.
First, the fundamental principles of large language models(LLMs)are explained, along with a summary of their medical applications.Subsequently,an approach to developing an LLM specialized for spleen-stomach disorders in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is introduced, with proposed training strategies. Finally, potential challenges facing the model and prospects for its future devel-opment are discussed. This work aims to provide insights for constructing a multimodal large model dedicated to TCM spleen-stomach disorders, thereby empowering disease diagnosis and treatment within TCM practice.
Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) is a traditional Chinese medicinal food, in which the main active ingredients are phenolic acids, polysaccharides, flavonoids, and volatile oils. They have various biological activities, including antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, hypoglycemic and lipid-lowering, and anti-inflammatory effects. This review summarizes the health effects and pharmacodynamic mechanisms of L. japonica extracts and the major active ingredients in these extracts, and the structures, metabolic process in vivo, and biotransformation processes of these compounds. In addition, the current status of the development of L. japonica-related functional foods is summarized. The aim is to provide a theoretical basis and reference for the further development and use of the active ingredients in L. japonica as functional foods for disease prevention and treatment.
