Building materials control is an important part of building intelligent construction, where section steel pose challenges compared with rebar and steel pipe due to its diverse cross-sectional shapes, mutual stacking and occlusion of end faces, and complex background environments in intelligent real-time counting. This study proposes a counting model for non-circular cross-section building materials based on improved YOLOv7.First,a large number of field photographs of I-beams,square steel tubes, and wooden keels were taken and augmented to 14,950 photographs, with a total of 1,290,210 end faces, using data enhancement. Then,a one-stage instance segmentation module was added to the YOLOv7 network to achieve instance segmentation and target detection tasks in parallel.Furthermore, the original YOLOv7 network was enhanced by refining the backbone network and detection head, introducing an attention mechanism, modifying the loss function, and implementing training strategy to improve the model's detection accuracy. Finally,a lightweight convolution module was used to reduce feature redundancy, enabling effective compression of the model and improving the detection time. The results indicate that the detection accuracy of all three improved building material counting models exceeds 90%,meeting the usage requirements. The above algorithm was integrated into an applet, which has been successfully deployed so that users can complete the real-time counting work by taking photos with their mobile phones.
It is important to explore the development process and main trends of healthy campus evalua-tion systems in order to guide the construction of healthy campuses and support the healthy growth of stu-dents.By reviewing and comparing healthy campus evaluation systems in China and other countries, this study focuses on the progress in terms of evaluation targets, content, and outcomes. It summarizes three trends in the development of healthy campus evaluation systems:the differentiation of evaluation targets, the diversification of evaluation content, and the variation in evaluation outcomes.Furthermore,it offers insights for China's healthy campus evaluation system, including considering people from different edu-cational stages, constructing a systematic evaluation index system, and strengthening the implementation of evaluation systems.
To enhance the hysteresis behavior of steel plate shear walls(SPSWs)and enable them to effectively dissipate energy,a novel design incorporating perforated double steel plates with tube stiffeners is introduced.Finite element models of seven distinct SPSW configurations, including the proposed design, were developed using ABAQUS software.Comparative assessments were conducted to evaluate the failure modes, hysteretic performance, structural strength, stiffness, and energy dissipation capabilities of the various SPSW configurations. The findings indicate that the perforated double steel plate shear wall with tube stiffeners exhibits a high load carrying capacity and favorable hysteretic performance compared to a wall with the same total thickness of steel plate. The incorporation of steel tubes as stiffeners between the wall panels enhances buckling restraint and reduces out-of-plane deformation through strategic placement.Additionally, this design approach mitigates the loss of load-carrying capacity, strength, and stiffness resulting from pre-perforation in the wall panels. The utilization of square or round steel tubes as stiffening elements minimally impacts the load-carrying capacity of the wall. However, square steel tubes exhibit superior buckling restraint and energy dissipation capabilities.Optimal performance is achieved when employing square steel tubes as stiffeners in perforated double steel plate shear walls.
Based on the concept of seismic resilient structures,a rocking column joint with friction dissipation was proposed. The configuration of the joint was presented and its seismic performance was investigated. The effects of parameters such as axial compression ratio and spring stiffness on the seismic performance and resilience of the joint under aftershock and restoration cases were analyzed through cyclic loading tests and numerical simulations. The study shows that the joint exhibits low-damage characteristics within±3%drift ratio. With the presence of axial force, the rocking column always remains elastic, and the hysteresis curve is obviously in a"flag-shaped"pattern.The joint possesses good self-centering performance, with a maximum residual drift of only 0.23%.By re-tightening the bolts, the joint performance can be restored to the level before seismic damage and achieve seismic resilience. The increase in spring stiffness can significantly improve load carrying capacity of the joint. The increase in axial compression ratio can improve both"yield"moment and ultimate bending moment of the joint. The joint is typically a semi-rigid joint under the action of axial force, and a range of initial rotational stiffness of the joint is determined. Finally,a simplified analytical model is proposed for the joint. The theoretical and experimental results are in a good agreement, which provides a reference for further analysis and design of the overall structure.
Cast steel joints were introduced into the dendriform roof structure for the main stadium for 2023 Pacific Games in Solomon Islands.Full-scale test and nonlinear finite element analysis were carried out to investigate the mechanical behavior of the cast steel joints under unfavorable design load condition. The results indicate that the steel joint exhibits elastic behavior up to 100%design load under tensile condition and 160%design load under compression condition, and no residual deformation after unloading is observed. The finite element analysis results match well with the test data, indicating that the finite element analysis can accurately simulate the actual stress state of the joint specimen. The ultimate bearing capacity of the cast steel node is 9.0 times the design load under tension conditions and 8.6 times the design load under compression conditions, meeting the relevant requirements specified in the Technical Specification for Application of Connections of Structural Steel Casting(CECS 235:2008).The designed cast steel joint has a relatively high strength reserve.
