Concrete is inherently prone to crack formation under tensile stress, compromising durability and thus permitting harmful agents to penetrate the matrix. To address this issue, bacteria-based self-healing concrete integrated with Bacillus subtilis was studied through fresh, mechanical, durability, and microstructural studies. The bacteria cause bio-calcification by forming calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), which occludes voids, seals microcracks, and enhances the density of the matrix. M20 and M30 grade mixes for both CC and bacterial concretes (BC) were prepared. Fresh property assessment indicated that BC showed an 8.97
In order to meet the increasing need for high-quality synthetic data in computer vision applications, this study presents SynthVision, a flexible framework. With the help of a variety of assessment methods and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), SynthVision provides a reliable method for creating synthetic data in a variety of disciplines. We demonstrate the framework’s effectiveness in generating synthetic data that closely resembles real-world settings through thorough experimentation and analysis, therefore advancing computer vision research and application.
We consistently observe a unique pattern in remanence in a number of canted-antiferromagnets (AFM) and piezomagnets. A part of the remanence is $\textit{quasi-static}$ in nature and vanishes above a critical magnetic field. Present work is devoted to exploring this $\textit{quasi-static}$ remanence ($\mu$) in a series of isostructural canted-AFMs and piezomagnets that possess progressively increasing N\'eel temperature ($T{_N}$). Comprehensive investigation of remanence as a function of $\textit{magnetic-field}$ and $\textit{time}$ in CoCO$_{3}$, NiCO$_{3}$ and MnCO$_{3}$ reveals that the magnitude of $\mu$ increases with decreasing $T{_N}$, but the stability with time is higher in the samples with higher $T{_N}$. Further to this, all three carbonates exhibit a universal scaling in $\mu$, which relates to the concurrent phenomenon of piezomagnetism. Overall, these data not only establish that the observation of $\textit{quasi-static}$ remanence with $\textit{counter-intuitive}$ magnetic-field dependence can serve as a foot-print for spin-canted systems, but also confirms that simple remanence measurements, using SQUID magnetometry, can provide insights about the extent of spin canting - a non trivial parameter to determine. In addition, these data suggest that the functional form of $\mu$ with $\textit{magnetic-field}$ and $\textit{time}$ may hold key to isolate Dzyaloshinskii Moriya Interaction driven spin-canted systems from Single Ion Anisotropy driven ones. We also demonstrate the existence of $\mu$ by tracking specific peaks in neutron diffraction data, acquired in remnant state in CoCO$_{3}$.
This study demonstrates how scene graphs can be used to find a specific clip using natural language queries from a collection of road scene clips. A framework has been developed to locate the desired clip from a pool of road scene clips. This framework includes scene graph generation, understanding the scene using a resultant scene graph function, summarizing the information from the resultant scene graph function, and finding the cosine similarity between the summarized information and the natural language query provided by the user. The framework was applied to locate the required clip from the collection of clips. The results highlight the need for improvement in summarization model, object detection, and to decrease number of frames between first and last frame from which resultant scene graph data is extracted.
e16225 Background: Gallbladder cancer (GBC) is an aggressive malignancy with a high incidence in India, where most patients present with advanced disease. Accurate exclusion of metastatic spread is critical before initiating neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in patients with locally advanced gallbladder cancer (LAGBC). Peritoneal metastases are frequently missed on imaging, and the incremental value of peritoneal cytology (PC) during staging laparoscopy (SL) in this setting remains underdefined. Methods: This ambispective observational study was conducted at a tertiary cancer center in India. Patients with LAGBC planned for neoadjuvant therapy and without radiologic evidence of distant metastasis underwent staging laparoscopy with peritoneal cytology. The primary outcome was the yield of peritoneal cytology in detecting occult metastatic disease. Associations between cytology, laparoscopic findings, imaging, and tumor markers were analyzed. Results: Fifty patients with LAGBC were evaluated (mean age 55 years; 56% female). Overall, peritoneal cytology was positive in 18% (9/50). Among patients with no visible metastatic disease on laparoscopy (M0, n = 37), 8.1% (3/37) had positive cytology, representing occult metastatic disease undetected by visual inspection. In patients with gross metastases (M1, n = 9), cytology was positive in 55.6%. Notably, 14.6% of patients staged as M0 on PET-CT demonstrated positive cytology. Elevated CA19-9 levels were associated with a higher cytology positivity rate (25.8% vs. 5.3%), though this did not reach statistical significance. Conclusions: Peritoneal cytology provides an incremental diagnostic value during staging laparoscopy in patients with LAGBC. Routine incorporation of peritoneal cytology into staging protocols for LAGBC should be strongly considered prior to initiation of neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
