This study addresses the challenge of formation control and navigation in swarms of mobile robots, presenting an innovative algorithm that integrates behavioral approaches with fuzzy logic to calculate behavior weights for Efficient, adaptive coordination dynamically. Using a leader-follower mechanism enhanced by a virtual leader, the algorithm enables coordinated swarm movement in complex environments. The methodology combines fuzzy logic with a behavioral strategy, allowing mobile robots to adjust their actions based on environmental cues and swarm dynamics without predefned paths. Simulated experiments show the algorithm's capability to maintain formation integrity and navigate obstacles, significantly improving swarm adaptability and operational efficiency. The findings suggest a promising direction for developing intelligent mobile robotic systems capable of complex, autonomous tasks, contributing to the field of swarm robotics with a novel approach to formation control and navigation that balances individual autonomy with collective behavior.
As technology becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, the role of software engineering in promoting healthy lifestyles has become increasingly important. Software applications have permeated our routines and well-being. Scrum, unlike traditional methodologies, offers an agile, iterative, and client-centric approach to software engineering. It emphasizes frequent client involvement, adaptability to changing requirements, and early risk mitigation, fostering a dynamic and responsive development environment. This approach is particularly crucial in the realm of mobile application design. Meanwhile, Grounded Theory can enhance the understanding of the alignment between developers and users’ needs. This paper presents a comprehensive exploration of the development journey of a mobile application designed for promoting health, utilizing the Scrum framework and Grounded Theory. The iterative process, based on qualitative research, encompasses requirements gathering, database design, interface development, and usability testing. The author introduces concepts and styles to define and simplify sprints for improved clarity and comprehension. The usability testing for the proposed application-based Scrum framework was evaluated by two groups: an expert group familiar with the application's functionality and a participant group with no prior experience. The chi-square analysis revealed no significant differences between the two groups in their performance of the set of tasks, suggesting the application was evaluated similarly. Furthermore, the results of the post-test questionnaire, specifically the System Usability Scale (SUS) measure, indicate that over 83% of the participants scored the application above 82, placing it in the "A" grade range and reflecting an excellent level of user satisfaction. The analysis of the gathered data yields valuable insights with practical implications for organizations aiming to optimize the effectiveness of their Scrum teams. The findings demonstrate the usability of the proposed application design, providing a framework for developing health-focused mobile applications using the Scrum framework.
The 5G wireless standard has emerged as a trans-formative technology with the potential to revolutionize various industries by providing enhanced connectivity and communication capabilities. This advanced standard offers a diverse range of applications, including Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication (URLLC), Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), and Massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC). In this Scientific research paper, we present a comprehensive analysis of the performance and capabilities of a deployed indoor 5G network in a controlled laboratory environment. The experimental setup comprises an Amarisoft Callbox, serving as the 5G core, along with a Remote Radio Head (RRH) and user equipment (UEs). Our primary objective is to assess the network's performance by evaluating the downlink, uplink, and joint downlink/uplink transmissions for TCP and UDP protocols between the gNodeB and user equipment (UE). To achieve this, we carefully examine key performance metrics such as latency, power consumption, CPU utilization, and signal quality. Through various configurations that involve MIMO 2 technology and a 30 kHz sub-carrier spacing, we investigate the impact of different NR Bandwidth settings. By establishing TCP and UDP connections for both uplink and downlink scenarios, we meticulously measure and scrutinize the system's performance, thereby providing valuable insights into its efficiency and suitability for diverse application requirements.
Healthcare is a global pillar, with a surge in the adoption of information technology, particularly in hospital information systems (HIS). However, global protocols are needed to meet the growing demand for data interchange, practical implementations for sharing healthcare data among facilities, and a pressing need for processing and storage infrastructure to handle the escalating volume of healthcare data. This study proposes a solution for efficient data transmission using electronic health records (EHR) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) to leverage cloud computing resources. This framework's architecture boasts robustness and adaptability, providing all registered software programs access to data interchange services. Through a comprehensive examination of the framework's structure, the essay also explores the most effective data-sharing methods. It identifies the healthcare system's optimal EHR data model. According to multiple healthcare experts, the operational building of this framework is expected to catalyze the growth of healthcare institutions both nationally and within specific industries.
Energy efficient permutation flowshop scheduling problem (PFSP) is widely studied to reduce the energy consumption in manufacturing systems. Most traditional studies make the premise that setup time is a component of processing time. However, this assumption does not satisfy the small batches, more varieties manufacturing models criterion. Therefore, energy efficient PFSP with setup times thus becomes a pressing problem that needs to be resolved. The contribution of this paper includes: (1) a permutation flowshop scheduling problem (PFSP) mathematical model by considering energy consumed and setup time by each machine in the system; (2) a grey-wolf algorithm optimization with variable neighborhood search (VNS) method (GWO_VNS) is proposed for the multi-objective PFSP model; (3) solved 9 benchmarks problems of Taillard (1993) [8] for the minimization of flowtime (FT) and energy consumption (EC). The performance of the proposed GWO_VNS algorithm is evaluated on the benchmark problems selected from the published literature [15]. It is noted that the proposed algorithm performed better on both the objectives i.e., FT and EC minimization. Overall, the proposed algorithm achieved 33.25% and 30.56% average improvement in FT and EC minimization respectively on benchmark problems.
