Android malware has become a growing issue for Android users, thanks to the popularity of the Operating System that has grown rapidly throughout the decade. Various approaches have been implemented to do malware detection in the Android OS, such as machine learning algorithms for heuristic approaches and frameworks to improve the detection and classification of malware. Unfortunately, most of the antivirus application that is available in the Android operating system is fully based on static methods, which cannot detect malware that used obfuscation techniques. This paper used the Mobile Security Framework by using the dynamic analysis method to detect malware with obfuscation techniques. The framework’s dynamic analysis method will be used to analyze multiple malware. The study aims to demonstrate dynamic analysis and measure the effectiveness of using dynamic analysis in detecting various malware. The method managed to detect 3 out of 7 malware applications that are present in the dataset. Several factors might contribute to the performance of the method, such as hardware limitations, obsolete application versions, and the ability of the application to behave differently with emulators.
Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) is a heart and blood disorderthat affects people globally. CVD can be chronic if there is no earlyprevention. Our heart monitoring application, Beat is apersonalized heart rate detector using smartphones andsmartwatches that aims to assist in preventing CVD through themonitoring of heart rate. Machine learning algorithms were alsoincorporated into the application. This project shows that theusage of heart rate monitors can be used not only for sports butalso in medical fields by alerting heart patients contacts wheneverabnormal heart rates are detected. Beat application is a simple, accurate, and low-cost system that uses a smartwatch to detectheart rate and analyze the data on the user's smartphones. Machine learning algorithms were also developed by our team todetect abnormalities in heart rate. This product is suitable for thepublic especially for the elderly and for patients with heart disease. Therefore, a portable and low-cost health monitor device isachievable without the need for expensive hospital equipment, justby using a smartwatch and this application.
Advancement in Information and Communication Technology have led to society utilizing software in every sector including healthcare, and transport. As software engineers impact society significantly, they have a duty to behave ethically in their work. Otherwise, it could cause great harm, such as the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica scandal. Although calls for reform are made after such incidents, sufficient action is not being taken in research, education and industries. Hence, this study aims to investigate the relationship between the work ethics of software engineers and their emotional intelligence (EQ), work performance and job satisfaction. Using the survey method, we collected data from 170 software engineers. Significant findings of the study are: there is a strong significant positive correlation between work ethics and work performance; a moderate positive correlation between work ethics and job satisfaction, however, EQ does not significantly moderate the relationship between work ethics and job satisfaction.
In the current digital era, various data can be generated with the capabilities of a computer system, making it easier and faster to make decisions. Mall is a place for shopping as well as entertainment that presents many well-known brands. In marketing the room to tenants, data is needed that can attract tenants to cooperate with the mall. The method used in this research is the Viola-Jones method which is used to detect objects because this method has an efficient algorithm, so it does not take long to detect objects. There are four main contributions to the Viola-Jones theory, including the Haar Feature, Integral image, Adaptive Boosting or AdaBoost, and the Combination Classifier of Cascade. The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the number of visitors who come as a reference for determining prices for tenants. The results of this study found that the Viola-Jones method can effectively calculate the number of visitors with a face detection approach and make it easier for mall management to get mall visitor data.
There has been a new scientific policy that has been proposed in Japan that is named Society 5.0. This type of society is defined as "a human-centered society that balances economic advancement with the resolution of social problems by a system that highly integrates cyberspace and physical space". For the past couple of years, educational institutions have been using online video conferences for remote learning due to the coronavirus pandemic. This type of learning has some benefits such as convenience and flexibility. However, conversely, it is more isolating and discomforting for some. Additionally, remote online learning has been proposed to be the future of education, which might be disappointing to some students. Development in the metaverse and its hardware might be the solution for a better learning experience. This technology is also aligned with Society 5.0 as cyberspace will integrate more closely with physical space. The student would be able to feel as if they were in an actual classroom using the metaverse, which can be accessed by 3D Virtual World Applications. They would be able to see their peers and hear more of their peers to feel less isolated.
