Abstract This article reports on a study that conducted a comprehensive psycholinguistic analysis of how violin sounds influence the human brain and psyche. The research methodology included the development of a multimodal questionnaire, based on established psycholinguistic approaches, to measure the emotional, cognitive, and other reactions of listeners. The results of the study strongly suggest that violin sounds exercise a significant influence on the intensity of emotional states of listeners. The correlation analysis confirms the relationship between the intensity of emotional states and cognitive processes, as well as between cognitive processes and aesthetic perception.
Abstract This study investigates whether contemporary art viewers can engage with Wayou, a traditional East Asian practice of experiencing a painted landscape as a visual journey. The authors examined this question using An Gyeon’s 1447 painting Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land (Mongyudowondo) and its inscription by Prince Anpyeong. They divided 50 participants into two groups, with one group reading Anpyeong’s inscription before viewing the painting. The results indicate that the text fostered more directed eye movements and deeper immersion in the depicted scenery. This suggests that contextual information can revive the practice of Wayou in viewers of traditional East Asian landscape paintings.
Abstract Mots et Lumières (Words and Lights) is an art installation created in 2022 that pays homage to the Spanish poets of the Generación del 27 (Generation of 27). Drawing on metaphors of neural networks, modular synthesizers, and historical telephone switchboards, the work visualizes the collective creative process as a living, interconnected system. Through computational elements such as word clouds that form portraits, sequenced lighting, evolving soundscapes, and randomized poetic displays, the installation embodies “flourishing” not as a static achievement but as an ongoing, dialectical emergence from chaos to clarity. Beyond commemorating a group dissolved by the Spanish Civil War, the installation enacts the ongoingness of collective memory and creativity, showing how ideas persist, resonate, and reconfigure across time.
