ABSTRACT We report the genome sequence of Klebsiella pneumoniae strain MGC01. Whole-genome sequencing generated 9,155,698 high-quality reads, achieving approximately 265-fold coverage. The final assembly comprises 5,159,509 bp with a GC content of 57.55% and 33 contigs. PlasmidFinder identified an IncM1 plasmid replicon, and Kleborate detected the intrinsic β-lactamase gene bla SHV-1. This sequence supports molecular epidemiology and pathogenicity studies.
ABSTRACT Here, we report the whole genome sequences of four potential indigenous probiotic strains: Photobacterium ganghwense MSR_IP16, Bacillus subtilis MSR_IP31, and two Bacillus velezensis (MSR_IP55 and MSR_IP80) isolated from sediment of Sundarbans mangrove and brood shrimps from the Bay of Bengal, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Genome assemblies ranged from 3.9 to 5.3 Mb with 19–44 contigs, respectively.
ABSTRACT The Mount Makiling Forest Reserve harbors diverse microorganisms with potential biotechnological applications, yet bacterial taxonomic profiling across its watersheds remains limited. Amplicon metagenome sequencing targeting the 16S rRNA gene revealed Proteobacteria and Acidobacteriota as dominant phyla, with Actinobacteriota, Verrucomicrobiota, Chloroflexi, Myxococcota, Methylomirabilota, Bacteroidota, Nitrospirota, and Planctomycetota present at varying abundances.
ABSTRACT The Databases, Software Tools, and Web-based Services special issue of Microbiology Resource Announcements features announcements that foster transparent, open, rigorous, and reproducible practices in the microbial sciences. These resources span the microbial sources and the three types of bioinformatic resources sought in the call for submissions. By publishing in Microbiology Resource Announcements , developers improve the discoverability and utility of their bioinformatic resources. Furthermore, it provides them with an opportunity to be credited for their work developing the resource. It also signals to the community that the resource is intended for broader use. The bioinformatic resources announced in this special issue fit alongside the other types of resources more commonly published in the journal and serve as useful companions to research articles published across ASM’s journals portfolio. Looking forward, the journal continues to seek submissions that continue the strong momentum created by the announcements included in this special issue.
ABSTRACT We report the draft genome sequences of six clinical hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates from Ghana. These isolates carry critical hypervirulence determinants, including siderophores and hypermucoidy regulators. These genomic sequences significantly enrich the West African data set on hypervirulent K. pneumoniae , providing vital baselines to support the surveillance of emerging high-risk lineages.
