Preform is formed by laminating Ti (alloy powder) sheets and fibre mats. The preform is set in a die of austenitic stainless steel, Ni or Co base alloy and pressed at 800 - 1000 deg.C in a vacuum. The hot pressed preform is then set in a die of C. C steel or Cr stainless steel and pressed at a temp. of at least 925 deg.C and higher than the hot press temp. by hot isostatic pressure.

USE -For producing fibre-reinforced Ti(alloy) composites having a smooth surface.
