NOVELTY - The system (100) has air cleaner section (10) in which main duct (11) and auxiliary duct (13) are connected for suctioning air. Valve housing (20) is installed within air cleaner section connected to auxiliary duct. Valve assembly (30) is installed in valve housing and to selectively regulate a pipe passage opening degree of auxiliary duct. Actuator is installed in valve housing and to supply driving force to valve assembly. Actuator has linear motor that contains motor shaft linearly moved by a current applied to permanent magnet.
USE - Variable intake system mounted to vehicle, for regulating amount of air introduced into combustion chamber.
ADVANTAGE - The variable intake system contains valve assembly for selectively opening and closing one of the two intake ducts. The variable intake system allows for accurate control of variable intake valve according to an operation region to achieve the linearity in acceleration booming, and minimizes loss of intake pressure, and optimizes noise reduction to improve performance of an engine. Since the linear motor is used as the actuator for operating the valve assembly, the engine output can be improved by achieving linearity in acceleration booming and optimizing intake pressure and noise reduction. Manufacturing costs is decreased and noise is reduced. The feedback controls opening angle of variable valve to promptly and accurately follow a target value of intake pressure in engine region, and achieves optimum engine performance.
