The facsimile appts is connected to a public telephone network (102) and a LAN (100). A unit delivers the received image to an information processing terminal (104) connected to the LAN. The existence of abnormality in the LAN is detected.
A unit outputs the data pertaining to this abnormality to the user. When the abnormality is detected, access to incoming call requiring delivery demand of image data through public telephone network is refused. When there is an incoming call based on the facsimile communication which records received data by a printer (215), the call is received.
