The equivalent circuit of signal path of high frequency relay was built by extracting the parasitic capacitance, inductance and resistance of signal path, based on the classical transmission line theory and partial element equivalent circuit(PEEC)method. The radio frequency(RF)performance curves of relay were obtained through simulation,and analysis of the equivalent circuit and the main factors which influence the insertion loss, voltage stand wave ratio (VSWR)and isolation of relay were discussed. The simulation results obtained by equivalent circuit method agree well with the experimental results, which show validity of the equivalent circuit model.
The discontinuity region in the signal transmissionpath of high frequency relay influences RF performance of the relay greatly.The CST software which is based on the FDTD method is effective to analyze the influence.Firstly basic theory of FDTD method is introduced in this paper.Then CST software is used to build the model of high frequency relay and analyze its RF performance.The simulation curves of RF performance agree well with the experimental curves.The RF performance including insertion loss and VSWR is optimized by adjusting the dimensional parameters in discontinuity region of the relay.Besides,the factors which affect the insulation performance of the relay are obtained.The research in the paper is of practical value for the design of high frequency relay.
The distributed parameters of signal path of high frequency relay are the main factors that influence the radio frequency(RF) performances of relay.The RF performances can be optimized through analysis of the equivalent circuit based on distributed parameters of signal path,and the precise extraction of parameters is the basis of building up the circuit.In this paper,the classical transmission line theory is used to extract the distributed parameters of uniform signal path of relay while the partial element equivalent circuit(PEEC) method is used to extract those of signal path with discontinuities.Thus the distributed capacitance,inductance and resistance of the whole signal path are obtained,based on which the equivalent circuit of signal path is obtained.Insertion Loss and VSWR curves of relay are obtained through simulation of the equivalent circuit.The extraction methods of parameters proposed in this paper are valuable for the design and analysis of high frequency relay.
