个人简介
Dr Liu joined ITC as lecturer in 1990. He is now reading for a PhD under the supervision of Professor Richard Elliott (University of Exeter). His thesis is an interpretive study deconstructing the symbolic meaning of fashion brands among young consumers post-modern China. His study on post-modern marketing started in confusion but is now an obsession (while in confusion). He is trying to bring an indigenous perspective to the study of Chinese Consumers, which is contrary to the extant raw transplantation of western theories. A post-modern product himself, Dr Liu studied/is studying in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Polytechnic), the US (Parsons School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, Philadelphia College of Textile and Science) and the UK (University of Exeter). His industry experiences are in merchandising and design. In his consultancy service, among others, his clients include the Hong Kong Mass Transit and Railway Corp., Procter & Gamble and the Customs and Excise Department of Hong Kong.
