My research fields cover the areas of smart structures and systems, vibration and shock mitigation, and innovative robotic technology. My overall research aim is to address the most challenging engineering problems by exploring innovative smart devices, especially in the fields of mechanical vibration control, shock mitigation and adaptive robotics. I have published more than 120 journal articles (SCI), 1 book,2 book chapters, and filed 11 patents. These publications have attracted more than 3000 citations according to Google Scholar and bring my h-index to be 20. The majority of my journal papers were published in JCR-Q1 journals, including Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Matter, IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, Smart Materials and Structures, etc.
Four of my papers published in Smart Materials and Structures were selected as the featured articles; two papers have been selected as annual highlighted papers; one paper has been selected as the most cited paper in 2016; and one paper has been selected as issue cover; one paper has been awarded the best paper award by the most important conference in our research field, International Conference on Electrorheological Fluids and Magnetorheological Suspensions, in 2014. My research and publications have made significant contribution and generated high impact in the research field of magnetorheological technologies and their innovative engineering applications. I have been invited to serve as a guest editor or academic editor for Smart Materials and Structures (SCI IF: 3.543), Journal of Intelligent Materials Systems and Structures (SCI IF: 2.582), Frontiers in Materials (SCI IF: 2.689), Shock and Vibration (SCI IF: 1.628). I have also been invited to chair session of international conference, deliver invited talk and serve as conference secretariat.
