Aaron R. Young was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 1993. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer engineering from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, in 2016 and 2017, respectively, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering. From 2011 to 2015, he was in summer internships at Siemens Medical Systems, Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility, and Garmin International. Since 2016, he has been a Graduate Research Assistant with the TENNLab Neuromorphic Research Group, University of Tennessee Knoxville. His current research interests include neuromorphic computing, computer architectures, embedded systems, and high-speed communication. Mr. Young has been a member of the Tau Beta Pi and the Engineering Honor Society, since 2013. He has been receiving the Bodenheimer Fellowship, since 2016. He received the Top Collegiate Scholar, in 2016, the Outstanding Computer Engineering Senior, in 2015, the Outstanding Computer Engineering Senior, in 2014, the Outstanding Computer Engineering Junior, in 2013, and the Min H. Kao Electrical and Computer Engineering Scholarship, from 2013 to 2015.
