Abbas Rahimi received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, in 2010, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science and engineering from the University of California at San Diego, La Jolla, CA, USA, in 2013 and 2015, respectively. From 2015 to 2020, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA, and ETH Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland. In 2020, he joined the IBM Research–Zürich, Rüschlikon, Switzerland, as a Research Staff Member. He received the 2015 Outstanding Dissertation Award in the area of “new directions in embedded system design and embedded software” from the European Design and Automation Association and the ETH Zürich Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2017. He was a co-recipient of the Best Paper Nominations at the ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference (DAC) in 2013 and the Design, Automation Test in Europe Conference Exhibition (DATE) in 2019, the Best Paper Award from the EAI International Conference on Bioinspired Information and Communications Technologies (BICT) in 2017 and the IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference (BioCAS) in 2018, and the IBM’s Pat Goldberg Memorial Best Paper Award in 2020.
