Albert J. Kettner

Albert J. Kettner (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Geosciences, Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor—Research with the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO, USA, with the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR). He is also the Director of the DFO—Flood Observatory, a not-for-profit entity hosted with INSTAAR, that has a mission to conduct and make available remote-sensing-based water measurements. He is the Chair of the GFP, the Global Flood Partnership, a cooperation framework between scientific organizations and flood disaster managers worldwide for better predicting and managing global flood disaster impacts and flood risk. His research interests include developing and making available surface water products that support the larger flood community.
