个人简介
Dr Albert Llausàs is a Serra Húnter Associate Professor at the University of Girona (Spain). He obtained his PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Girona. Albert started his research activity as a landscape ecologist with a strong focus on quantitative methods utilizing Geographic Information Systems to identify changes in patterns and ecological functions, particularly in Mediterranean cultural landscapes. He also worked as an analyst officer in the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia developing landscape indicators. After a short stint as research assistant at the University of Paris 7 (France), he moved to the Newcastle University (UK) to explore issues related with the delivery of Green Infrastructure, particularly under the influence of climate change. Between 2012 and 2014, at the Melbourne School of Land and Environment of the University of Melbourne (Australia), he researched agricultural land abandonment and natural resource management in peri-urban areas of Victoria including the social perceptions and preferences for future development of local landscapes. Between 2014 and 2016 he was Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Beatriu de Pinós / EU Marie Skłodowska Curie) in the Department of Geography at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His research addressed the use of remote sensing methods to study water demand of gardens and swimming pools in low density urban areas along the Mediterranean coast. Between 2017 and 2021 he was associate lecturer at the University of Valencia, where he used a Political Ecology approach to examine conflicts around diving activities in a marine protected area. He is currently involved in a project dealing with adaptation to climate change in touristic coastal areas.
