Bio
Alex Lackpour is a Principal Investigator / Chief Scientist of Wireless at Peraton Labs. He has experience leading research projects as a contractor for the US Government. At Peraton Labs, he leads several projects that enable co-existence and spectrum compatibility for a variety of commercial and DoD spectrum-dependent systems. He is an established leader in the Dynamic Spectrum Access and Sharing (DSA / S) community with a long record of successful program capture, management, and execution. Prior to Peraton Labs, Mr. Lackpour was a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contractor to the Deputy Director of NOAA's Radio Frequency Management Division (RFMD). In this role, he advised RFMD leadership on spectrum sharing and representing NOAA's severe weather surveillance mission within the multi-agency SENSR radar program. Previously, he was a senior member of the Engineering staff at Lockheed Martin Advanced Technologies Laboratories, where he developed autonomous AI/ML spectrum control and sharing technologies.
Mr. Lackpour currently chairs the IEEE P1900.8 working group on Standard for Training, Testing, and Evaluating Machine-Learned Spectrum Awareness Model. He is also Vice-Chair of the IEEE 1900.5 working group on Policy Language and Architectures for Managing Cognitive Radio for Dynamic Spectrum Access Applications. He is also Secretary of the IEEE Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks Standards Committee (DySPAN-SC).
Mr. Lackpour is a part-time Ph.D. candidate in the CSE Department at Drexel University (ABD). He earned his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The College of New Jersey.
