Bio
Thas A Nirmalathas (Co-Chair)
Thas A Nirmalathas is currently the Deputy Dean responsible for the oversight of the research at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and a professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He also leads the Wireless Innovation Lab (WILAB). Thas received BEng (Hons) and Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Melbourne. His research explores interactions between microwaves and optical waves to realise interesting devices, systems, and networks. He is also the Chair of IEEE Photonics Society's Emerging Technologies Taskforce.
