Anastasios Delopoulos (Member, IEEE) was born in Athens, Greece, in 1964. He received the bachelor’s degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Athens, Greece, in 1987, the M.Sc. degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA, in 1990, and the Ph.D. degree from NTUA, in 1993. From 1995 to 2001, he was a Senior Researcher with the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems, NTUA. Since 2001, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece, where he is currently a Professor. He is the (co)author of more than 75 journal and conference scientific papers. His research interests lie in the areas of semantic analysis of multimedia data and computer vision. He has participated in 21 European and national research and development projects related to the application of signal, image, video, and information processing to entertainment, culture, education, and health sectors. Dr. Delopoulos is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
