个人简介
From process studies to climate interactions: the chemistry of the atmosphere.
original
The group develops and applies numerical models to analyse and interpret observational data obtained from laboratory experiments, field campaigns and satellite remote sensing. Our process-oriented analyses aim to improve the understanding of atmospheric chemistry and interactions with physical mechanisms that control transport and removal of gases and aerosol particles. Our scientific studies in which models are applied generally address atmospheric composition change, impacts on air quality, climate and planetary health.
These studies are conducted using several, complementary numerical models (see figure), ranging from box-models, which represent the chemical processes occurring at specific locations, through regional models that focus on the processes on scales from hundreds to a few thousands of kilometers, up to global models. Feedback mechanisms between global biogeochemical cycles and climate are studied with an Earth system model that simulates interactions between the atmosphere, oceans and the terrestrial environment, including the biosphere and anthroposphere
