I received my doctoral degree in psychology with highest honours (summa cum laude) from the University of Tartu, Estonia, in 1999. After completing my doctoral studies, I worked for two years as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. Upon return to Estonia, I worked as an Associate Professor and a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology, University of Tartu for about 10 years. In 2012, I was awarded a prestigious Academy Research Professor position by the Estonian Academy Sciences for the period 2013-2015. In 2014, I was appointed Professor of Personality and Social Psychology in the Department of Psychology, the University of Tartu. Since January 2016, I also work as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, the University of Warwick, UK.
