We are interested in spectroscopy and dynamics of short-lived (transient) species formed on photo-excitation of molecular systems and materials. We employ time-resolved fluorescence and ultrafast pump-probe (transient absorption spectroscopy) techniques for this purpose. We also use time-resolved confocal fluorescence microscopy technique like fluorescence lifetime imaging and single-molecule fluorescence technique such as fluorescence correlation spectroscopy for our studies. We are currently engaged in the study of charge carrier dynamics and fluorescence blinking in a variety of photo-excited perovskite nanocrystals of different morphologies, photo-induced processes in semiconductor quantum dots, solute and solvation dynamics and understanding the nature of the ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents.
