Bio
Arash Mohammadi (S’08-M’13-SM'17) received B.Sc. degree form ECE Department at University of Tehran in 2005, the M.Sc. degree from BME Department at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in 2007, and Ph.D. degree from EECS department at York University in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Multimedia Lab, in the ECE Department, at the University of Toronto. Dr. Mohammadi is currently an Associate Professor with Concordia Institute of Information Systems Engineering (CIISE), at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. He is serving IEEE Signal Processing Society at the capacity of Director Membership-Development. He is also the General Co-Chair of “2021 IEEE International Conference on Autonomous Systems (ICAS)”; Guest Editor for IEEE SIGNAL PROCESSING MAGAZINE (SPM) Special Issue on “Signal Processing for Neurorehabilitation and Assistive Technologies”. He is also currently serving as Associate Editor on the editorial board of IEEE SIGNAL PROCESSING LETTERS. He was the General Chair of IEEE 2018 Video and Image Processing (VIP) Cup, and; Served as the General Chair of Symposium on Advanced Bio-Signal Processing and Machine Learning for Medical Cyber-Physical Systems under 2018 IEEE Global Signal Processing Conference (GlobalSIP). Additionally, Dr. Mohammadi was the Lead Guest Editor for an Special Issue in IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL AND INFORMATION PROCESSING OVER NETWORKS entitled "Distributed Signal Processing for Security and Privacy in Networked Cyber-Physical Systems"; General Chair of Symposium on Advanced Bio-Signal Processing and Rehabilitation and Assistive Systems under 2017 IEEE Global Signal Processing Conference (GlobalSIP); Organizing Committee of Special Session on Bio Signal Processing for Movement Assessment, Neuro-Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies, under 2017 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, and; Organizing Committee Chair of "IEEE Signal Processing Society Winter School on Distributed Signal Processing for Secure Cyber-Physical Systems". His research interests include cyber-physical systems; biomedical signal processing; information fusion; distributed signal processing for agent networks; secure networked control systems; consensus algorithms, large-scale dynamical systems, and; smart grids. Dr. Mohammadi is recipient of several distinguishing awards including the Eshrat Arjomandi Award for outstanding Ph.D. dissertation from Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, York University, in 2013; Concordia President’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 2018, and; 2019 Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science's Research and Teaching awards in the new scholar category.
