Jürgen Bajorath is Professor and Chair of Life Science Informatics at the University of Bonn and an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Biological Structure at the University of Washington, Seattle. He obtained diploma and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry from the Free University in West-Berlin, was a postdoctoral fellow at Biosym Technologies in San Diego, and spent more than 10 years in the US pharmaceutical industry. His academic career began at the University of Washington prior to moving to the University of Bonn in 2004. Jürgen's research focuses on the development of computational methods for medicinal chemistry and chemical biology, chemoinformatics, and 'big data' analysis in the life sciences. Recent honors include the 2015 Herman Skolnik Award, American Chemical Society Division of Chemical Information.
