个人简介
Research interests
In her research career so far, Professor Saini has been involved in a systematic program of evidence generation to facilitate national implementation of a pharmacy-based asthma disease state management model that she developed in her doctoral work. Her research has showcased the clinical, humanistic and economic benefits of pharmacist-delivered care in asthma. The model developed by her has been cited internationally in prestigious reports and review.
Professor Saini has led and collaborated in implementing and evaluating several successful pharmacy-based models that involve screening/case detection (sleep disorders, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tuberculosis (Cambodia), patient self-management (allergic rhinitis, sleep disorders, asthma) and clinical audits (sleep medications), as well as pharmacovigilance (sleep medications). In parallel with developing the pharmacy health services research profile, over the last few years she has embarked on developing the role of pharmacy in sleep health, and she is one of the few pharmacy-based researchers publishing in this area globally.
Her work and background have led her to conduct and supervise research in international settings, including India, Cambodia and Saudi Arabia, with an interest to develop and evaluate primary care health models for respiratory disease in varied health systems and socio-cultural settings.
