个人简介
I am committed to the dissemination and implementation of evidence- and community-based health promotion programs for older adults with a focus on physical activity interventions. As lead of the Coordinating Center for the CDC Healthy Brain Research Network I oversee our efforts to advance a public health research, translation, and dissemination agenda that promotes cognitive health. Our team authored the first Mall Walking: A Program Resource Guide that is being disseminated to aging service agencies, providers, and mall managers. My earlier work was in rheumatology and symptom management where I developed the Multidimensional Assessment of Fatigue scale that is available in 25 languages. Students work with me who are passionate to build evidence to support healthy aging; motivated to learn research methods and participate on productive and collaborative teams; and committed to working with community partners. My service activities include serving on boards for non-profit organizations, reviewing manuscripts; reviewing grants for federal and private foundations, serving on professional association committees, and volunteering locally to support healthy aging causes.
