Bio
Carlos Brody is interested in the neural mechanisms underlying our cognitive abilities. Using the rat as a model organism, Brody and his team apply a combined computational-experimental approach to their studies of decision-making, executive/cognitive control, and working memory. The multifaceted team brings together expertise in computational, behavioral, electrophysiological, pharmacological, and optogenetic techniques. They focus on quantitative behaviors that allow for mechanistic exploration of high-level cognitive questions using powerful emerging tools.
