I'm an Associate Professor in the School of Interactive Arts + Technology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. I am the Director of the Connections Lab, an interdisciplinary research group that focuses on the design of future technologies. My research is in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, and Domestic Computing where I study social culture, user behaviors, group collaboration, and ubiquitous and mobile technology design. This has involved studying, designing, and evaluating a range of technologies including communication, coordination, and gaming systems. Recent research projects heavily focus on telepresence for family and workplace communication over distance.
