个人简介
I am a scientist who is passionate about taking synthetic biology into the industry level. I seek to tackle the most challenging problems that hinders bio-synthethis from being industrialized - such as process instability and cost. This requires next level strain design and engineering processes and stable predictable parts, which are all projects that I am enthusiastic about.
My current work at Cathay Biotech Inc. stands on the sucess that the company has already accomplished and brings R&D processes to the next level - making it more automated, fast, and predictable.
My PhD work at University of Washington focues on building synthetic biology tools for gene regulation. Our papers published about CRISPR activation (CRISPRa) system fills in a technical gap for programmable regulation of gene expression in bacteria.
Besides science, I have a multicultural background. Having lived in China, Germany, HongKong, and USA, I have gained deep insights into multiple diverse cultures. Being able to professionally communicate in Chinese, German, and English, I have greater adaptability in multi-background communities and collaborations.
