My professional passion is developing global microbiome projects, and designing software for analysis that scales well into the future. I do so by collaborating with talented people across disciplines, from a mix of universities and industry partners, and working with them to achieve common goals.

Daniel sees outreach in science as a powerful tool and a tremendous amount of fun. “It’s incredible how people perk up when you open a talk with a call to action requesting their poop!” This academic and general outreach is one of the many facets of this project that interests Daniel. That, and an endless combination of poop, robots, and supercomputers.
