David Meger is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science at McGill, a Member of McGill’s Centre for Intelligent Machines (CIM) and co-director of the Mobile Robotics Laboratory. His research areas include the use of 3D geometric information within robotic perception, and behavior learning for complex robotic systems. His PhD research established a visually-guided robotic agent, known as Curious George, a prototype platform that won numerous high-profile international research contests. Prof. Meger’s current work on task-learning for a six-legged swimming robot has recently been nominated for a best-paper prize at ICRA. He has also received the CIPPRS/ACTIRF Award for Service Excellence for contributions to the Conference on Computer and Robot Vision where he was co-chair for 2013 and 2014. He is one of the Distal Fellows of the NCFRN.
