Career Trajectory
Bio
Davide Basilio Bartolini received the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy, in 2015 with a thesis on “Techniques and Tools for Efficient, QoS-Driven Warehouse-Scale Computing.”
During the Ph.D., he was a visiting student with ParLab, University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, CA, USA, and with the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, where he researched on operating systems and computer architecture. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the computer Engineering and Networks Laboratory, ETH Zurich, Zürich, Switzerland, where he researched on real-time systems and embedded systems security. He subsequently moved to Oracle Labs, Zürich, where he initially researched on improving the efficiency of rack-scale machines for data analytics, data mining, and large-scale graph processing. Since 2017, he has been focusing on bridging the gap between the relational and graph data models with a heterogeneous graph model and on coupling graph analytics and machine learning for cognitive tasks, such as topic analysis and entity linking.
