Research Interests
Sensory Processing
I am interested in the relationship between sensory processing and perceptual experience. Before we can perceive any event, multiple analyses must occur in the brain. These analyses are often independent of one another, take place in different brain regions and can be completed at different rates. It is not clear how these analyses combine to create subjectively unified experiences - a mystery often described as the binding problem. Nor is it clear how we determine when one event occurs relative to another. These questions are the focus of my research.
