He was selected as a member of the program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of Ministry of Education of China in 2004, and one of the 151 Talents Program from Zhejiang Province in 2008. Presently, he serves as the secretary-general of National Cultural Heritage Science and Technology Protection Region Innovation Alliance (Zhejiang Province), the director of Science and Technology Innovation Group for digital culture of Zhejiang Province, the director of Key Scientific Research Base for Digital Conservation of Cave Temples (Zhejiang University) State Administration for Cultural Heritage.
In recent years, he has presided a project of National Science and Technology Infrastructure Program, a project of National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 program), a project of National key Basic Research program of China(973 Program) and three projects of Technology Research and Development Program of Zhejiang province. Up to now, he has co-authored more than 200 refereed papers and has 34 patents granted. In 2005, 2010 and 2011, he won the second prize of Science Technology Improvement Award respectively.
