个人简介
Dr. Evelyn Duesterwald is currently Senior Manager of the Cognitive Computing Platform and Runtimes Department at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. She is working with her team on building Watson Platform Next, a cloud based platform for building and operating next generation cognitive computing applications.
Cognitive computing applications are applications that process big data to derive insights, that reason, train and continuously learn, and that interact with humans on human terms. These applications are both data- and compute-intensive, they evolve (learn) and they consume vast amounts of data, often continuously. Watson Platform Next is a cloud computing platform tailored to the specific needs of these cognitive applications. The platform consists of a set of runtimes, programming models, tools and an ecosystem to develop, train and operate cognitive applications. At the core of the platform is a powerful DevOps infrastructure to support the rapid evolution of scalable, highly-available and trainable cognitive applications.
Evelyn's broader experience and interests include tools and runtimes for cloud development and operations. Past experiences and publications cover the areas of parallel program analysis, dynamic and static program optimization, and software development tools, including cloud-based development tools. Evelyn holds over 25 patents.
Evelyn is a Distinguished Scientist of the ACM.
