Evgeny Kharlamov is a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford. He was previously a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford (with Michael Benedikt) and the University of Edinburgh (with Leonid Libkin), a postdoctoral research at the University of Bolzano (with Werner Nutt and Diego Calvanese), and a research assistant at INRIA Saclay (with Serge Abiteboul) and Télécom ParisTech (with Pierre Senellart). Evgeny did his PhD at the Universtity of Bolzano under the supervision of Werner Nutt and Pierre Senellart. Evgeny is an alumni of the Novosibirsk State University, the Russian leading research school, where he studied mathematics. His research interests span different aspects of Semantic Technologies, with a particular focus on how they can address data integration and Big Data and include reasoning, relational-to-ontology mapping bootstrapping, query interfaces, and ontology evolution and privacy. His work has led to publications at VLDB, JCSS, TODS, IJCAI, CIKM, KR, ISWC, and SIGMOD among other top-tier conferences and journals. He played a leading role in Oxford’s participation in a large scale EU funded Optique project; he is the PI on an industry-funded project with Siemens on semantic analytics and on model management for complex industrial production systems. Evgeny also initiated and had been leading an Oxford's project on faceted search over semantically-annotated data and was a co-investigator in the EU projects Webdam on Foundations of Data Management, and ACSI on Artifact-Centric Data Interoperation.
