Francesco Caridi was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, on December 3, 1980. He received a scientific diploma from the secondary school “A. Volta,” Reggio Calabria, in 1998, with 60/60 final assessment. He received the M.Sc. (cum laude with 110/110 final evaluation) and Ph.D. (with excellent final assessment) degrees in physics from the University of Messina, Messina, Italy, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. From July 2007 to December 2008, he was a Research Assistant with the Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Messina. Since December 2008, he has been an Expert Physicist with the Faculty of Sciences, University of Messina. He is a Specialist of lasers, laser–matter interaction, and plasma production, diagnostics, and applications. He is also with the Gruppo Collegato di Messina, INFN, Messina. He is the author or coauthor of about 100 publications in international and national journals and conference proceedings.
