To what extent will developmental modifications lead to the evolution of new life history strategies? To address this question, we currently study: (i) evolution of asexual development (budding) and regeneration in colonial ascidians; (ii) evolution and neural control of host finding behaviors in nematodes; and (iii) evolutionary and developmental adaptations of intertidal and cave flatworms.
