Treatments and Plasma Spraying.
Relationship between microstructure and properties (mechanical, corrosion and
tribological) of thin films. Development of new and hybrid processes for deposition
of thin ceramic and composite films. Plasma physics, plasma sources and their use for
thin films deposition and surface processing. Large Area plasma source. Plasma
Imersion Ion Implantation (PI3).
Study and characterisation of new superhard materials such as Diamond-like carbon,
cubic boron nitride and nanostructured composites. Application of PACVD to
deposition of ceramics thin films for medical implants and prostheses. Application of
diamondlike carbon and nano crystalline diamond to the biomedical field. Surface
