Gareth’s research contributes to building a cumulative evidence base for scalable interventions to improve population and planetary health, focusing particularly on changing behaviours such as food, alcohol, and tobacco consumption. His work encompasses evidence synthesis; primary research - typically interventional - in field, laboratory, and online settings; and related conceptual and methodological development.
Specific interests include:
Systematic reviews of intervention effectiveness, particularly those implemented at, or scalable to, population level;
Development and evaluation of interventions to change behaviour through altering aspects of physical environments, such as the availability, size, and labelling of products; their underlying mechanisms;
