Primary research focus: Image and Video Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning.
I am extremely passionate about being conversant with the state-of-the-art developments in my research field in specific and technology in general.
Research at UT:
At UT, I work with Dr. Alan Bovik in the Laboratory of Image and Video Engineering. I broadly deal with blind image and video quality assessment with specific goals to extend the state-of-the-art towards more real world image distortions, build human-in-the-loop systems, and employ perceptual quality metrics in improving some of the existing computer vision techniques.
I have an entrepreneurial spirit and I served as a co-founder of Team Samvedana from January 2008-2013 where we aimed at bridging the information gap between donors, volunteers and NGOs. Here at UT, I plan to keep up the same spirit and am constantly looking for opportunities to work with fantastic people and technologies with a focused aim to learn from and hopefully contribute to the collaborative effort.
