Giuditta Marinaro received a degree in physics from the University of Roma “La Sapienza,” Rome, Italy, in 2002 and the Ph. D. degree in polar sciences from the University of Siena, Siena, Italy, in 2012. She is a Physicist working as a Technologist at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), the main Public Research Institution in Rome, Italy, for Earth Sciences and Hazards. She has worked in the field of submarine observatories engineering for ten years. She is responsible for the scientific payload of seafloor observatories managed by the Marine Unit of INGV (GEomarine InterDisciplinary Researches). She was a member of the Data Management Council of the European Commission (EC) ESONET NoE; INGV Local Project Manager for the EC Kilometre-Cube Underwater Neutrino Telescope (KM3NeT) project; and WP1 leader in the CE HYPOX project. She was part of the technical management team of the Preparatory Phase of the infrastructure European Multidisciplinary Seafloor Observatory (EMSO, http://www.emso-eu.org/), the European network of fixed seafloor and water-column observatories constituting a distributed infrastructure for long-term monitoring of environmental processes, including geohazards. She is the Technical Manager for INGV of the NEutrino Mediterranean Observatory—Submarine Network 1 (NEMO-SN1) cabled observatory (EMSO node in southern Italy) and SN4 standalone observatory (EMSO node in Marmara Sea—Turkey).
