个人简介
My research comprises field, laboratory and numerical modelling studies of atmospheric processes, mainly relating to multiphase interactions between gases and aerosol particles and between aerosol and clouds. Aiming to understand the impacts on air quality and climate, with my group I digest detailed process information into parameterisations for large scale numerical model studies.
Whilst most of my research is conducted in large multidisciplinary collaborative consortia (3 of which I have led), my team comprises field and laboratory measurement scientists, process and regional scale modellers and instrument developers with backgrounds across, physical, biological, computational and environmental sciences. We can therefore conduct quite sophisticated multidisciplinary projects in-house. My projects funded since 2008 that you'll find below illustrate the variety of atmospheric problems we are actively investigating.
Approaching atmospheric science from an engineering background, I aim to pull together the people, tools and resources needed to do the job. Working in my team can expose researchers to disciplines, problems and approaches both inside and outside their comfort zones!
