Bio
I am a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research, New York City. I completed my PhD in the Computer Science Department at Princeton University, where I was fortunate enough to be advised by Rob Schapire and also to work closely with Elad Hazan. I received my bachelor degree at Peking University.
Starting Fall 2017, I will be an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern California.
My research interest is in theoretical and applied machine learning, with a focus on
online learning, especially on adaptive and robust regret minimization algorithms;
advanced boosting algorithms;
fast and scalable optimization methods;
game theory and its connection to machine learning.
