Hamid Hosano (Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1990, and the Ph.D. degree from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1999. He was a Lecturer at the Sharif University of Technology from 1990 to 1996. He served as a Research Associate and an Associate Professor at Tohoku University from 1999 to 2006. From 2006 to 2008, he was a Visiting Scientist at the Department of Bioengineering, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA. In 2008, he joined Kumamoto University, Kumamoto, Japan, where he is currently a Professor with the Institute of Industrial Nanomaterials. His research interests are pulsed power, shock waves, ultrasound, bioelectrics, microfluidics, and biomaterials.
