Hyunho Shin

Dr. Hyunho Shin (https://sites.google.com/view/rate-split-hopkinson-bar) received his BE and MS degrees in Materials Engineering from Korea University in 1986 and 1988, respectively, and PhD in Materials Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1994. Since 2005, he has been with Gangneung-Wonju National University as a professor and is leading the Mechanics of Materials and Design Laboratory at the Dept. of Materials Engineering. His interest in Mechanical Material Properties and Modeling for Simulation includes: (1) constitutive models and calibration, (2) fracture models and calibration, (3) equations of state and calibration, (4) high-strain-rate tests using (split) Hopkinson bar and plate impact facilities, and (5) modeling & simulation of high-strain-rate behavior of solids and structures.
